Common uses
- Twitch sub giveaways. Drop subscriber names from chat, weight by tier, spin on stream. Use multiplayer mode so viewers watch the same animation.
- YouTube subscriber draws. Paste comment-pull list, set Pick count to the number of prizes, spin live in your video.
- Instagram / TikTok comment giveaways. Export commenter usernames, paste, spin. Share the URL in DM with sponsor brand for transparency.
- Email list giveaways. Drop entrant emails, spin to pick a winner. The wheel runs locally so the email list never touches our servers.
- Discord community draws. Use Discord slash-commands to pull active users, paste, and spin in voice chat with screenshare.
About this wheel
How to run a transparent online giveaway
Online giveaways have a credibility problem: viewers can't verify that the host's pick was fair. The standard mitigations are (a) live-streaming the pick, (b) using a verifiable random source, and (c) publishing the entrant list in advance.
A wheel-based giveaway hits all three: the spin is visible, the random source is cryptographically secure (crypto.getRandomValues, not Math.random), and the entrant list is encodable in a shareable URL — so viewers can verify nobody was added or removed between announcement and pick.
Multi-winner giveaway patterns
Single-prize draws: Pick count = 1, one spin, done. Multi-prize-tier: weight prizes from 1st (highest) to last, spin in order, remove winners between spins. Tiered-weight draws (subs vs free): use Name*N to encode tiers, then spin once with Pick count = total winners.
For draws with sponsors who want their brand visible, use the multiplayer mode and share the room URL in your description so viewers can join and watch the same wheel — the sponsor's brand reach extends to every viewer's device, not just the streamer's screen.
Streaming integration tips
OBS browser source: add a new browser source pointing to https://www.spinofluck.com/giveaway-wheel, set width 1280, height 720. The wheel renders at standard 16:9 — fits any streaming overlay.
Stream Deck: assign a key to send Space to the active app. Spin without leaving your scene.
For voice-call giveaways (Discord, Zoom), pair the wheel with screenshare — viewers see the spin on shared screen, no audio sync issues. The wheel uses CSS animations and minimal JavaScript so it remains smooth at 30fps even on weak streaming hardware.
How to use giveaway wheel — pick a winner online
- Drop your entry list. Paste followers/subscribers/email entrants, one per line. Use 'Name*N' for weighted entries.
- Set winner count. Open Settings → Pick count → set to the number of prizes you're giving away.
- (Optional) Go multiplayer. Click 'Host room' to let viewers join the same wheel via a 6-character code.
- Spin live. Press F for fullscreen, share screen / start stream, then press Space to spin.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the giveaway wheel fair?
- Yes. Every spin uses crypto.getRandomValues() — the cryptographically secure RNG built into modern browsers — to pick a winner. The visible animation lands on the pre-decided result, so there's no way to bias it during the spin. For added transparency, share the wheel URL with viewers before the spin so they can verify entries.
- How do I weight subscribers vs free followers?
- Use the Name*N syntax. 'Alice*5' gives Alice five slices — five times the odds of a one-slice entry. Common pattern: free followers = *1, subs = *3, tier-3 subs = *6, mods = *10. Adjust to your community's culture.
- Can I run a giveaway live on Twitch / YouTube?
- Yes. Add the wheel as an OBS browser source (https://www.spinofluck.com/giveaway-wheel) or share the multiplayer-room URL in chat so viewers see the same wheel. Press F for fullscreen, then spin with Space — works with most stream-deck shortcuts too.
- Can viewers see the wheel without joining?
- If you use the multiplayer-spin-wheel mode, viewers can join the same room via a 6-character code and watch the wheel sync in real time on their own device. For a 'show only' experience, just project the wheel as an OBS browser source — no special setup.
- Where is my giveaway data stored?
- Locally — in your browser's localStorage. Entrant names and email addresses don't leave your device unless you use the share-URL feature (which encodes the wheel into the URL itself, not into a server). The site has no user accounts and no entrant database.
